postpartum: untold stories

the photography book

Postpartum is powerful, messy, and unforgettable

It’s time the world saw it that way

Birth is not the end of the story.

It’s the threshold. What happens after—the bleeding, the sleepless nights, the ache of a healing body, the flood of love, the unraveling and reweaving of identity—is postpartum.

Postpartum is raw. It’s messy. It’s powerful. And yet, it’s the part of the story we hide, minimize, or forget to tell. The world celebrates the baby, but who is documenting you—your strength, your exhaustion, your becoming?

This book is about that silence in photo form. About filling the gap in our cultural memory by telling the truth of postpartum—one family at a time. Every image, every story is a piece of a bigger narrative: that what happens after birth matters just as much as birth itself.

By joining this project, you’re not only preserving your own story—you’re helping to build a collective one. A record of what it really means to cross into parenthood. A story that says: postpartum is history, too.

  • Your guess is as good as mine! Ha! But I’m anticipating this being quite a long-term project with estimates being around 8 years. This topic is near and dear to my heart and I want to give it the most respect and time it deserves.

This isn’t just about one story—it’s about all of us.
Our bodies and minds change alongside our babies, but so much of it goes unspoken. By supporting this project, you’re helping create community, grow knowledge, and share stories that cross cultures, identities, and experiences.

Together, we’ll create a book that says: you are seen, you are not alone.
